How much does your service cost? Medical Group Services, Inc. charges a percentage of the amount we COLLECT for your practice. Our fees are tied to our performance unlike some services whose fees are based upon the amount charged out. What are the advantages of filing electronically? By filing claims electronically we are able to dramatically reduce the time the insurance companies use to process your payment. In addition electronic filing allows us to monitor claims transmitted and fix incorrect information such as Insurance policy numbers BEFORE the claim is denied. All payments are sent to your office. Payment documents are also sent to you, with copies being held at the MGSI office.
How do I check a patient balance and account information? Medical Group Services, Inc. has invested in a sophisticated data network that provides our clients with high speed real time access to all their account information. Security features of our billing package allow us to control access to information providing you with the power to decide what information your employees will have access. What if a patient pays in the office? If your office staff receives patient payments in the office, that payment is documented and transmitted electronically with other payments from that day. I am concerned about losing control of my practice, how will using your service affect the amount of control I have? Because Medical Group Services, Inc. is able to provide you with real-time access to all your practice information from anywhere in the world, we are able to provide you with more control over your business. You will no longer have to worry about work backlog due to employee vacations or absences. So whether you are sitting at your desk or vacationing in Australia answers to your finances are merely a click away. Who does the patient call when they have a billing question? Medical Group Services, Inc. provides a patient call center to handle patient billing inquiries. This service was created to reduce office call volumes. Our call center is open during normal business hours Monday - Friday excluding national holidays. All conversations are noted on the patients account and are available to your staff for reference. What kind of reports do you provide to monitor my account? Our clients have real-time access to our billing system and through that system we offer hundreds of billing, accounts receivable, and practice analysis reports that can be printed at will. We also offer custom report options that allow your company to specify how the report should be designed. These reports are available upon request. How will I be assured that my patient records will be kept confidential? Our staff will come into contact with confidential patient information while processing information on behalf of your practice. Our confidentiality is guaranteed in a legal contract with your practice that outlines our responsibilities. You can be assured that all sensitive information will be kept confidential. What is the time frame for billing out claims once the contact is signed? Upon receipt of requested data, MGSI takes approximately three weeks to set up all your practice management files. Once this is complete, MGSI can immediately begin handling your billing. It takes 4-6 weeks to begin transmitting claims electronically due to the electronic claim submission application process of Medicare and other commercial carriers.
